Product Stewardship Program Continuous Improvement: Application of Lean Principles

Friday, September 28 | 1:30 PM – 3:00 PM

Learning Level: Experienced | Topic: Management Systems

Lean principles were originally created to eliminate waste and inefficiency in manufacturing operations, however they can be applied to a variety of product stewardship functions, including label and SDS generation, per-shipment regulatory permitting activities, and the new product introduction process. During this session, attendees will learn how to apply Lean principles to product stewardship functions and explore case studies using Lean principles to improve two different product stewardship programs.

Learning Objectives

  1. List at least five key Lean principles and explain them in the context of product stewardship.
  2. Identify typical product stewardship value streams.
  3. Develop a Lean Event charter for a continuous improvement event.
