As part of the Product Stewardship Society's focus to provide resources, professional development, and networking opportunities that serve the needs of product stewards globally​, we have partnered with the Board for Global EHS Credentialing (BGC), formerly the American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH), to develop a credentialing program to further promote the development and recognition of the product stewardship profession.

We are currently seeking volunteers to help develop this new credential

What Level of Commitment is Required

Volunteers will be asked to participate in one to four face-to-face meetings hosted by BGC over the course of the next year. Each meeting will last 3-4 days. During those meetings, you will be joining other product stewardship professionals in the development of a key aspects of a credential. These items include development of a job task analysis for product stewards and examination development, review, and validation.

The meetings will be held in Lansing, Michigan or a convenient city selected based on travel logistics. Travel expenses will be reimbursed by BGC. Volunteers will be required to participate in at least one of the face to face meetings.

What Background Should Volunteers Have

Volunteers should have at least 5 years of experience in a product stewardship profession that may include, but not limited to, product safety evaluation, regulatory compliance (chemical hazard communication, consumer products, pesticide, dangerous goods, transportation), safety data sheet authoring, and sustainability. The right volunteers will have experience in consumer goods, government, consulting, manufacturing, nongovernmental organizations, or legal professions and individuals are sought from a variety of organizational roles from practitioners to managers.
